How I get quick wins in SEO and Content Marketing
I’m not really used to writing shorter blog posts – and I’m also guessing that most of you already know that I always write long-form content and comprehensive tutorials related to online marketing.
So I’m going to try something new, well not that new, since I’ve written some posts in the past that are just 500+ words in length – although, there’s something that I would want to test on this one.

The Content Marketing Show Round Up – May 2013
Friday saw more than 1000 marketers attending the Content Marketing Show in Logan Hall at the Institute of Education in London. This was my favourite slide of the day – it’s Paul May’s & the photo was taken by Stacey Cavanagh. The wifi password was ‘going underground’ Continue reading »

How to Increase Conversions through Brand Strengthening
I remember being asked about the single best piece of advice I can give for improving conversions on a group interview on Crazy Egg late last year. Although there are a lot of factors that can really influence site conversions, I chose the one which I believe has the biggest impact – branding.
The truth is, it’s easier to sell things when people (especially your target consumers) are already aware and fascinated by what your brand is putting out on the web (think Amazon, Zappos and Shopify).

How To Generate (Pseudo) Expert Content Ideas For Your Client
The phrase “content is king” gets thrown around a lot. Yes, that’s a cute use of alliteration, but what does it really mean? Thanks to Google’s Panda update, it’s simply not enough to stuff a few keywords into some ham-fisted copy and call it a day. Unique content is both valued and needed more than […]

When faced with creating a conversion-focused SEO landing page, what should our copy focus on? There are so many things we can do — so many directions we can go — that it becomes hard to know what to choose. Do I go with statistics or stories? Facts or feelings? Data or discounts? If…

Creativity Is The Real King
They say content is king and I do believe in this, but for me creativity is the real King. Creativity for me is the core of each product and company success, creating something new and of value but marketing it in such a way that it captures the hearts of its people which can in […]

Why Content Marketers are Right to Hate on SEOs
Do you self-identify (or have you previously self-identified) as an SEO? If so you likely won’t be too surprised to hear that you’re ‘unpopular’ in the content marketing world. In truth I’d suggest that unpopular doesn’t come close to covering Continue reading »
The Informational Content Advantage

80/20 Link Building Tactics
I’ve been practicing the Pareto Principle or the 80-20 rule since the start of this year, which is basically focusing on tasks that can actually get more results, but will only require minimum amount of efforts.
This rule is pretty much applicable in link building as well, even in online marketing as a whole (as explained very well on a recent blog post by Dan Shure) – wherein you can just allocate more of your time on implementing processes that can help maximize the efforts you exert through the results they can generate.
Using Customer Surveys to Define Your Content Marketing Efforts
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again—content marketing can be tough. Creating content without a target audience is like Hall without Oates, peanut butter without jelly, Carly Rae Jepson without ‘Call Me Maybe’….essentially, it just doesn’t make sense. Continue reading »
